Changing the general appearance in the Qedoc Quiz Maker
Modules have a number of appearance options.
Application size
You can force the Qedoc Quiz Player to resize to a specified size when your module is opened. The user could, however, change that size themselves afterwards.
Theme
A number of built-in themes (or "skins") are supplied with the Qedoc software. These include a detailed image background for each theme and a set of colours to match. You can force the Qedoc Quiz Player to adopt one of these themes when your module is opened. The user is able to change the theme themselves if they wish. When you change themes, the Qedoc Quiz Maker will also modify its own appearance to give a rough idea of how the theme looks - however the Qedoc Quiz Maker does not yet always reproduce the changes 100% until restarted.
Transparency
Optically, the Qedoc Quiz Player makes significant use of semi-transparent overlays. The toolbars and all information and testing screens use semi-transparent interface elements placed over the background image. You can modify the level of transparency. Greater transparency (a lower number) runs the risk of making the text harder to distinguish. Lower transparency (a higher number) makes the text clearer, but ultimately reduces optical elegance.
Backgrounds
A variety of built-in backgrounds are supplied with the Qedoc Quiz Maker. These have been carefully chosen and modified to suit the aesthetic requirements of test-taking. If you have a paid-up licence, you can also choose your own backgrounds. An extra option for this appears if (a) you have a paid-up licence and (b) you choose the secure (most advanced) level of operation.
Changing the appearance in the Qedoc Quiz Player
To make the Qedoc Quiz Player easier to use (e.g. by partially-sighted users]], your appearance settings can be significantly modified by the end user.
- The image background can be completely removed (which makes transparency irrelevant and maximizes textual clarity).
- The text size can be changed.
- The theme can be changed (colours modified).
- The frame size of the application can be changed.

Fonts
Font definitions are supported, including options for anti-aliasing and unicode-friendly fonts. Font choices have been limited to those fonts which are pretty well universal on recent Windows operating systems. Font options are available in the question settings panel for each individual question. In addition, most editable fields in the Qedoc Quiz Maker support basic HTML tags, including the <FONT> tag. This can also be used for a high level of control, including using multiple font faces, sizes and other font features within the same block of text. HTML tags must be manually inserted.
