This site includes many screenshots of software, including Qedoc software and 3rd party applications. The inclusion of such material in this site does not imply that the general CC-BY-SA licence on the text of this site applies to screenshots.

Screenshots of software applications are widely used for tutorials all over the web. Use of these images does not imply any modified rights over the contents of those screenshots. For further use of pictorial material deriving from a software application, you should refer to the software application's original licence agreement. For example, for screenshots of Microsoft Word, refer to the Microsoft licence.
Note carefully that screenshots may included pictures of icons. Usually these are of reduced quality compared to the original icon. Icons are often used under sub-licence from commercial suppliers. You are not entitled to lift icons from a screenshot. Respect the original purpose of the screenshot, which is to help people use the software in question.
Other images
As with Wikipedia, all images uploaded to this site are tagged with their own licence. Click the image to access the special image page which gives details of the image's licence. For images we use a variety of Creative Commons licences, but also a variety of both free and non-free licences, such as GFDL, LGPL, public domain and all rights reserved - usually depending on the original licence applied to the image wherever it was originally published.
Learning modules
Learning modules are provided as separate media downloads, available from and described in pages on this site. These have their own individual licences, which are a variety of Creative Commons licences. The exact choice of Creative Commons licence is up to the original author of the module. Ownership of the learning modules remains with their original authors. The choice of licences for these items reflects the practicalities of licencing interactive content.
Software applications
Software applications, including software applications for editing learning modules, are linked to from this site and will typically be used in conjunction with this site. Such software applications are subject to their own licencing.
