Create a new task

question bank, but won't yet actually be used in any quiz or assessment.
The diagram to the right shows where you can click to start creating a question. The first times you create a question, it may be a good idea to click on the golden wand, which launches a very chatty wizard with lots of dialogues and guidance. You will quickly want to upgrade to the silver wand, which involves only two dialogues.
The most important dialogues in the question creating process are the task wizard, where you choose the task or question type, and the task configuration panel.
- The task wizard is a dialogue with a scrollable list of all the available task types (there are a lot). It includes a filter system on the left and a preview system on the right. The filter system allows you to locate a suitable task type more quickly from the very long list. The preview system helps you make a better decision by showing you a preview of a possible question appearance and a short verbal description of the task type.
- The task configuration dialogue is entirely optional at this stage - you can simply skip over it and click OK if you like. All the task configuration options (and more) are also available from property editing panels show at the bottom of the Qedoc Quiz Maker interface. Whether you use the task configuration dialogue or the property editing panels is a matter of taste. The property editing panels have the advantage that you can preview the final appearance while still editing (WYSIWYG display).
