Web launching

At the top right-hand side of every module page on this site, there is a prominent link marked "launch quiz". If you click this link, the quiz (and the Qedoc Quiz Player) will launch straight off the web for immediate playing.

This is by far the most convenient way to deliver learning content to your students.

Time and bandwidth considerations

The first time a quiz is launched this way, a special version of the Qedoc Player must be downloaded. This will slow down launching time, depending on bandwidth. This delay only occurs the first time.

For every time after that, the Quiz Player will already be stored in cache on the local machine, so no programme download is needed. The only thing to download is the module/quiz itself. This applies even if you launch different quizzes.

Software upgrades

Each time you launch quizzes this way, the software will automatically check back to the server to see if there are software updates. If there are, these will be loaded, with a slight delay in launching time. As the software is stored on the server in several dozen parts, often only one or two parts will need updating, so updates go quite quickly.

System requirements

For web launching of quizzes, you should already have java installed on the machine in question.
